Trimmers, Brushcutters and Clearing Saws
We have listed below some of the most frequently asked questions when buying a trimmer, brushcutter or a clearing saw.
What is the main difference between grass trimmers and brushcutters?
The grass trimmer is a smaller, lighter machine made for trimming the lawn where the lawnmower is unable to reach. Brushcutters and clearing saws are far more powerful machines, that are designed to cut and clear high grass, heavy brushwood and small trees.

Any Two stroke engine should always be run on a mixture of petrol and good quality
two stroke oil. (Please refer to your manual for correct petrol/oil mix).
Should I use a Trimmer Head, Grass blade or Saw blade?
Trimmer Heads
Use a
trimmer head for dense grass and weed. It will effectively clean up the areas that lawnmowers are unable to reach or even places that the traditional mower will not operate. (
Grass Blades
Use a
grass blade for dense, coarse grass, but not for woody growth or saplings. The grass blade is designed to allow the grass to fall directly onto blade to create rows. It slices through the toughest brush or mows down weeds, with ease.
Saw Blades
Use these blades for woody vines and other thick growth. Also saplings and small trees are dealt with ease.

When using a Trimmer, Brushcutter or Clearing saw you should always use protective Eyewear and a visor, protective trousers and boots are also handy to protect your legs and feet from stones and other flying debris. I would also recommend hearing protection and gloves.
